New Year Resolution: A slimmer me.
Do I get CoolSculpting® or SculpSure®, Vanquish or Liposuction? I am so confused. What is best for me?
A new year, a new start! At the start of every year, I come up with my New Year’s resolutions and losing weight is always on the list. Some people may think it is vain, but carrying extra pounds can impact our health. This is especially true if we already suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, and other medical conditions.
For years, I have been interested in getting a non-invasive fat reducing procedure, but I was not sure which one to get and the options were overwhelming. Their differences were not obvious to me so I felt the need to do some research and this is I got.
Here is a list of a few of the most popular non-invasive procedures for removal of adipose tissue (fat reduction). Let’s compare CoolSculpting vs. SculpSure vs. Vanquish vs. Zerona.
CoolSculpting® is the only FDA approved treatment that kills fat cells by freezing them to the point of elimination. There are multiple studies showing that cool sculpting has long-term results. CoolSculpting® treatments do not require any recovery time, there are no incisions, and there is minimal bruising and discomfort post-procedure. You can even resume your normal activities the same day! Other important things to consider when doing non-invasive fat removal treatments are the safety features of the device. One of the safety features of the CoolSculpting® device is it will turn itself off if there are any problems during the treatment — such as the skin getting below a certain temperature. This feature will help prevent any unwanted post-treatment complications.
There have been over seven million CoolSculpting® treatments done worldwide! Wow, lots of people have tried this treatment.
I went to Real Self.com and reviewed what other patients (like me), have to say about all the different fat reduction devices and CoolSculpting® has the highest percentage of patients that underwent treatment, as per today 01/21/19.
CoolSculpting®: 4348 reviews with 75% of clients/ patients who recommend the treatment.
Zerona: 149 reviews with 46% of clients/ patients who recommend the treatment, not many…
SculpSure®: 814 reviews with 84% of clients/ patients who recommend the treatment
Vanquish: 219 reviews with 64% of clients/ patients who recommend the treatment
Real Self is a website were patients who underwent treatment can leave a review about their experience, this is an awesome way to help others to make the right decision!
Zerona is FDA approved as well. Zerona uses cold lasers to disrupt fat cells, but this approval is for non-invasive body contouring and not for fat reduction. The studies about this non-invasive fat reduction method indicate that the results are not as long term as cool sculpting… good to know right?
Zerona also requires multiple treatments. Clients usually need between 5-6 treatments; the treatments are performed every two weeks and each treatment takes about 40 minutes.
SculpSure® uses a laser technique with heat to eliminate unwanted fat. SculpSure® has good reviews (like cool sculpting) and will also give you long term results, but a few things must be considered prior to choosing the proper treatment. If you have a low pain tolerance or sensitive skin; it’s important to know that SculpSure® must reach a fairly high temperature to work, and this can be quite uncomfortable. It heats fat cells to about 107 degrees Fahrenheit according to the manufacture. CoolSculpting®, on the other hand, is less uncomfortable, since the cooling action will have a numbing effect. Usually, within the first 3-7 minutes, clients experience some mild cooling sensation and then it goes numb!!! yeah!!!
Also, let’s consider how much fat you’re hoping to reduce. For a candidate who has more fat to remove, CoolSculpting® would be the better option, since the treatment needs a solid pinch of fat to latch onto. If you are a candidate who is in good physical shape and you just have a small area that you cannot lose even if you go to the gym every day, then SculpSure® is a great option.
Vanquish is an FDA approved device. The form of energy that this device uses is radio-frequency or RF. Vanquish, uses an applicator suspended an inch above the body which emits RF and heat waves to target fat cells. With Vanquish, clients require a minimum of four treatments, each treatment is spaced at least a week apart.
Okay, now that you have all of the information about these non-invasive fat reduction treatments, you can make an informed decision.
