Patient presented to our office with right leg pain, numbness, and heaviness. In addition, she had a large bulging vein on her right inner leg to below the knee. After a consultation with Dr. Mountcastle a venous ultrasound was recommended to rule out vascular disease. We are able to provide ultrasounds in our office same day with our vascular technician at the time of the appointment. A phlebectomy procedure was recommended(bulging vein removal), this is usually completed in our office using local anesthesia. Incisions are tiny (stitches are generally not necessary) and typically leave imperceptible puncture mark scars. Post-operative discomfort is minimal. Compression stocking is worn for a short period for best results.
