Subcutaneous Mastectomy
Subcutaneous Mastectomy
Back To Gynecomastia GalleryDescription:
This patient is a 31 year old male who was unhappy with his gynecomastia (extra breast tissue). Dr. Mountcastle performed a laser assisted bilateral subcutaneous mastectomy to remove the excess breast tissue from each breast. This particular case was especially complicated because the patient's left breast was significantly larger than his right one, which meant that achieving symmetrical results would be more difficult. Retraction of the skin and nipple placement are just two examples of issues that must be considered when performing this procedure to achieve optimal results. As shown above, Dr. Mountcastle successfully reduced the breasts and left the patient with a symmetrical chest. The patient was extremely pleased with his results.
