Restore Volume and Fullness with Restylane®, Radiesse®, and Perlane®

Youthful skin has an abundance of hyaluronic acid, a sugar compound that acts as a sponge to bind water, giving skin volume and fullness. As we age, the hyaluronic acid in our skin diminishes, leading to facial lines, wrinkles, and a hollow appearance around the cheeks. Restylane® and Perlane® are dermal fillers that add volume and fullness to the skin by replacing lost hyaluronic acid, restoring a youthful appearance. These injectable treatments:

• Add fullness to the face by treating nasolabial folds, laugh lines and marionette lines
• Sculpt the lips, plumping thin areas and eliminating fine lines on the lips’ surface and at the corner of the mouth

Both Restylane® and Perlane® are clear gel formulas designed to simulate the hyaluronic acid naturally produced by the body, for facial fullness and volume lasting up to eighteen months. However, the larger particles that make up the Perlane® formula contain a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, making it better suited to treat deeper wrinkles, plump brows, enhance lips and smooth hollow areas beneath the eye.

Radiesse® is a calcium-based injectable which needs to be injected deeper below the skin but allows filling for up to a year and half. By restoring skin’s collagen, Radiesse® provides youthful volume to the skin’s face, reducing wrinkles and other signs of aging. The calcium microspheres that comprise the product’s gel formula provide structural support to the skin, so results achieved with Radiesse® are long-lasting.  While Radiesse® provides excellent results in various areas of the face, it should not be used on areas where the skin is thin, such as around the eyes.

 The Procedure

After the area being treated has been numbed with a local anesthetic, Dr. Mountcastle will administer a series of injections using an ultrafine needle. The length of the procedure ranges from several minutes to a half hour, depending on the size and area being treated. Results are immediately noticeable, and will reach full effect when swelling diminishes after two to three days. Because there is no post-procedural downtime, patients are free to return immediately to work.

Eliminate Wrinkles with Dysport® and BOTOX® Cosmetic

Dysport®

If “frown lines” between your eyebrows, known as glabellar lines, are cause for concern, Dysport® may be the ideal injectable treatment for you. BOTOX® Cosmetic

When aging, damage from the sun’s UV rays, and environmental pollutants cause skin to lose its youthful tightness and elasticity, repeated muscle contractions lead to wrinkles, forehead furrows, crow’s feet and frown lines. Injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily prevent muscles in treated areas from contracting, relaxing the appearance of fine lines and facial folds for smoother, younger-looking skin. Because the procedure is performed gently, using a tiny needle, discomfort is minimal. No anesthesia is necessary, and there is no post-procedural recovery time. Results become apparent within three to seven days, and last three to six months.
