Trained aesthetic nurses ease the way
Sclerotherapy. Botox. Fillers. Laser therapy… the most important factor of these types of medical procedures begins with the expertise of aesthetic nurses.
At Mountcastle Plastic Surgery and Vein Institute, you will be attended by the very best – Chief Nurse and Aesthetic Nurse Specialist Amy Herrmann, R.N. and Tammy Lawson, R.N., have a combined 15 years experience. Both women are certified practitioners with hands-on experience who receive annual certification in new aesthetic techniques. Both have performed thousands of procedures: sclerotherapy, Botox®, Juvederm® XC, Restylane®, Perlane® and Radiesse®, as well as Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant and other laser procedures to handle wrinkles, dark spots and spider veins and more.
During the initial consultation, Amy or Tammy will assess you as a candidate, take your medical history, and answer your questions. Most patients seek assurance of certifications and accreditations by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), and the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAASF). Tammy and Amy will detail those certifications and accreditations, as well as the procedures being considered, including:
· What are the possible risks?
· What is the expected recovery for the procedure?
· How much will the surgery cost?
Here are a few highlights:
To treat spider veins, Amy or Tammy may inject FDA-approved Asclera® (polidocanol) forsclerotherapy. The procedure involves three to five 30-minute treatments, and patients may resume normal activity immediately after treatment. “If you’re modifying your lifestyle – not going out swimming or wearing shorts in summertime because you don’t like the appearance of spider veins, then come see us. The procedure is very effective with great results,” says Tammy.
Botox® is the brand name of a FDA-approved neurotoxin that is injected in the upper part of the face to relax muscle movements that cause frown lines or wrinkles. Dysport and Xeomin are two other neurotoxins in addition to Botox. The results last for on average three months. “Educating patients on the benefits of Botox and fillers are part of the initial consultation,” explains Tammy. Prices vary based on the type and treatment required.
Laser treatmentsare another option for hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. Fraxel or Clear + Brilliant are two of the laser options offered. Fraxel requires two to five treatments based on desired results. Fraxel and Clear + Brilliant are both a non-surgical way to remove minor imperfections and improve the overall look of the skin. The downtime is minimal and treatments are scheduled at six weeks apart.
